Mars Robotics Association Clearances
To ensure the safety of every child and comply with Pennsylvania state law and FIRST requirements, the Association must maintain a sufficient number of adults with clearances to hold meetings and attend tournaments.
Clearances: Three clearances are required, and they are valid for five years when volunteering with the Mars Robotics Association.
STATE POLICE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK - The State Police Criminal Record Check is REQUIRED for the above positions and may be obtained online, here:
PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE - The PA Child Abuse History Clearance is REQUIRED for the above positions and may be obtained online, for free from: https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home

A Service Code will need entered for the application - feel free to utilize your local service code: this can be acquired from your school district.
The Service Code for Mars is 1KG6XN. If you are unable to locate your school service code, you could utilize the Mars code.

FBI CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK - DIGITAL FINGERPRINTING - An FBI Criminal Background Check, Digital Fingerprinting is REQUIRED of everyone who has been a PA resident for LESS THAN 10 continuous years.

The process for the first two clearances is relatively quick, and results are often returned within hours. Affidavits may be notarized by a notary of your choice. The FBI Check is a longer process, requires an appointment, and generally several weeks to receive your results.
